How it works

From scattered pins to one fair spot.

MidMeetup turns a group of locations into a meeting place that's fair for everyone — no more arguing over whose turn it is to travel across town.

1. Everyone drops a pin

Create a meetup, send the invite link, and each person drops their starting location — home, office, the gym, wherever they're coming from. No accounts required to join.

2. We compute the fair midpoint

MidMeetup calculates the geographic centroid of all the pins. Unlike a simple "halfway between two addresses," the centroid scales to any group size and naturally shifts to keep travel time balanced.

3. Pick a vibe, get the shortlist

Choose what you're in the mood for — brunch, coffee, sushi, drinks, pizza — and we surface a handful of real, currently-open venues near the midpoint, ranked by rating and distance.

Why midpoint matters

  • No one feels like they always have to travel the farthest.
  • Groups actually meet more often when nobody dreads the commute.
  • You discover great spots in neighborhoods you'd never have suggested.

Frequently asked

How does MidMeetup calculate the midpoint?
We take every participant's pinned location and compute the geographic centroid — the point that minimizes total travel distance for the group. Then we search for venues within a tight radius of that centroid.
What if one person lives much farther away?
The midpoint naturally shifts toward the outlier so they don't carry the entire travel burden. You can also pin a custom anchor (e.g. a transit hub) if you want to bias the meeting point.
Does it use real travel time or straight-line distance?
We start with the geographic midpoint, then rank venues by walking and driving distance from each participant using live data so the result is fair in practice, not just on paper.
Can I use it for two people or twenty?
Both. MidMeetup works for a coffee with one friend or a 20-person team offsite. The math and the venue search scale the same way.
